Just had one through, trying to sell me a years warranty for my Sky equipment.... even though i've only had it for about 2 months!
They even said they were from sky, i nearly bought into the bullshit until he asked for my payment details, i said chuck it on my same info as my bill and he said "oh we need it on a separate one to keep it different from your bill, i nearly started giving over the details when something clicked "this isn't right" so i said "call me back in 20min as im at work"
I googled the number and read how its a company pretending to be sky selling warranties etc. Waited for him to call back, said i didn't want it and his reply was "why does this not interest you" my reply was "I googled your number and can see its a scam, i'm not interested" to which his reply was "Ah, ok then bye" and put the phone down.
Cunts!

Getting them 5 times a day at work i've now became desensitised to telling people to literally go fuck themselves.

If you mention the telephone pereference service (its somthing like that!! :lol and say your number is part of it, and mention they have to hang up and not call again otherwise they can be fined quite few grand - i really cant remeber what its called we have our home number on it and we say it to 'cold callers' and they go away.

as with any company they pass information on at a cost, says it in your contract if anyone cared to read it for promotional stuff.. but there is an option to be taken off the list, its an opt out rather than an opt in service.

Sky should be far more careful with their sale of information then, it's making them look bad as a company.

hammer - its very true mate and i couldnt agree more, but its not really sky's fault, to the uneducated (ppl that dont know) it can look very bad, but soon as they are informed they are not annoyed with sky.
i suggest that everyone that has sky to call up and get your name taken off.
last thing you want is you mum or dad falling for it.
