Evening all,

Had the cars MOT and failed miserably.

Welding and Emissions being the main.

Emission wise, the reading are:-

Engine Speed: 2500-3000RPM Manual check
CO: <= 0.300% 0.777%
HC: <= 200PPM 171PPM
Lambda: 0.970-1.030 1.100

Think this is just a case for fuel system and engine flush or something more?

Well it faired abit better and abit worse on second fast test in fairness:

0.7365
177PPM
1.123

But natural idle is:-

<= 0.500%
Manual check:- 0.497%

Yes tis the X14XE engine, hardly Eco-tec! lol

But i was thinking sum good engine cleaner would perhaps sort it out!

Or would it need a new lambda?

No EML, but very rarely, can be some little popping/gurgling in the exhaust system at times

I had the same problem with my 1.4- It used to pop between gears and it had rundown on a standard exhaust

I think the sensor and cat had gone
