i was with RAC because i got it free with my driving lessons.
but when i used them, they took over an hour and a half to come out

yea there not ambulance so what do you expect...RAC because no matter what the time your going to have an RAC van, unlike the AA which only work 6am til 11pm i think, during the night a contract will turn up, normally will take longer as well

I'm with the AA, dad is with the AA, never had any problems. I'm actually 'named' on Dad's policy. I don't need to be with him, but it all works out cheaper (same membership number etc!).
Top tip: If you're at Uni, put your HOME address as your PARENTS HOME. That way, when at Uni, you don't need Home Start, 'cause you're never at home
