Asked a while ago about a new crank for my mtb bike, its a giant yukon, my crank is now officially f***ed, the pedal arm has totally sheared off the square bolt.

I was recommended a Shimano Hone Chainset HollowTech II

Just wanted some advice on fitting it, i have read alot of reviews and they all say good things about it, but as fitting goes, some have said easy and some hard, and you need certain tools.

I think it may have been Superlite who had one and said about it before, could be wrong though.

really easy to fit. Get the frame faced (abit like a cylinder head skim), screw in the bottom bracket and slot in the cranks. Then tighten the 2 bolts.

Hollowtech cranks are brilliant and external bottom brackets are loads better.

Yeah you need a tool to screw the BB down. Any bike shop, even halfords will sell them.

You can get the frame faced at a bike shop. Just means the mounting face for the BB is smooth/flat.
