Can i still lower 60mm on 195/50/15's or will it scrub?
would i be safer just going 40mm?

i lowered mine by about 70mm on 195/50/15s and it scrubbed like a bitch for abit. then the plastic inner arch rubbed away and it would only scrub on full lock

thats why i said any lower then -60mm you would need 45s as its not very wise to let the tyre roll your arch lmao..

just got for it then, if it scrubs take it from there, you could always cut your arches or get lower profile tyres

what wheels have you got?
if there vauxhall rims with et49 offset, id say 195/50 wont scrub....
dont hold me to it though, im 65mm front and 90mm rear at the moment but got 45 profile..

ive not got money for lower profile tyres as my 195/50's are all pretty new.
ive got cav slabs et49, so perfect for lowering.
how hard is it to cut arches etc?

easily can trim the inner lip, its only plastic so very easy..
id say the most you will have to do if it does scrape is trim the platic lip...

i dont know if anyopnes ever did it but basicly when the plastic arch trim is off and exposes the metal part of the arch ("generaly on the back i do this") take a rubber malet or somethin of the sorts and tap/hit the arch out a bit, not much just a bit. then carefull cut all the wat up and round and remove some of the arch, but take note of the spot welds you cant go above or on them, basicly go half way into the hole where the clip goes and go hole 2 hole, then take the sharpness of the edje, this takes a gd bit of time lol, change suspension, change wheels bond arch on, never hear a scrape agian

as said above, you can cut abit off the plastic arch and then just bond them on...
id defo invest in some 195/45s though mate, after ive sorted the clearance with the exhaust, im going for -110mm on the back...

arch work seems pretty long.
i guess ill have to stick with a 40mm drop until i can afford to get 195/45's

id go for the -60mms tbh, i mean the arch work above is when you cut loads off and bond them on, i dont think you will have to do this because you have the correct offset wheels..
may need to trim the arch lip, even just sand the plastic down a little bit...

hmm, what happens if it does rub anyway?
wont the tyre eventully sand away the arch itself

No, the arch will eventually wear away the tyre and you'll get a blowout
Arch work is easy..
