If you go with someone like the AA they can place you to work in areas your not familiar with or even live near.

My mate paid for one, never sat it but it was only 2k, bcm possibly.
Is there not a cap on earnings of about 30k unless you own your own 'school' with other cars etc?

Right. With the AA which is what I'm doing in 11 months.
45 hours per week with 3 weeks holiday a year =
Income
Hourly lesson price in (TN) = £23.00
Estimated weekly income from lessons = £1035.00
Estimated annual income from lessons = £50715.00
Outgoings
Weekly franchise fee = £196 inc VAT
Average pupil introduction charge paid per week is £15.57 inc VAT
(based on average of 27 introduced in a year based on £30 per pupil).
Average fuel costs per week = £65.22
Net weekly income before tax and N.I. = £758.21
Net annual income before tax and N.I. = £37152.13
The cost for training is £5000 if you "pay as you go" but you can get it down too about £3000 if you pay it all in one. You get a return from the money in two months wages so its not really a put off for a life long career option.
You get a car (1.6 focus) which is replaced free every six months. For a small price extra you get a personal use car which is also a focus.
Benefits are amazing and quite a rewarding job when somebody passes.

Just found my documents.
Individually (Paying each part as you go) its £3424
Pay in full cost its £2644.92
I *THINK* its 45 hours training each of driving ability and then instructional ability.

Is that estimation of fuel cost not a little low considering they are saying you will be instructing for an average of 45 hours per week
