looking to get a track car sorted out, and have a 2.0 8v engine just knocking about so might use it in a nova/corsa track project.
expensive to get power from?
any good examples i could look at?
worth just spending a few extra hundred for the valver?

I was going to do this and put carbs on the 8v but though might aswell get the 16v and put carbs on that. An extra few hundred it worth it.

but then its effort of sourcing a good xe. and the extra cost of buying etc.
8v that bad?

8v is less tunable thats about it really

You'll probably find that all the 8v's you look at will have a million miles on them and will be out of rep mobiles and taxis. Not so great really if you think they are going to in better condition than a 16v of the same age. They are probably as bad as each other, and both will need an overhaul.
