Nothing you can do, but its not a big deal, honestly
3 ways to deal with it:
Diet
Pills
Injection
(best to worse there).

Carl that sounds similar symptoms to a mate of mine who found out he had type 1 or A or whatever it is. He also suffered with a hangover for about 3 days. Hopefully you aint got it but if you have it doesn't have to rule your life

I'm diabetic, had it for 5 years now and was diagnosed when I was 13, I have type 1 (Which is mainly for younger people) which is when you need injections.
It is by no means life changing, I play sports, I go out drinking, I can do anything to an extent. I say extent as it does restrict you from doing some jobs such as joining the army, being something like a bus driver, joining the police force and so on (this is what I was told by docters).
As long as you are sensible and don't let it get the better of you, you will be fine.
Feel free to ask me anything you like, u2u me anytime. It's quite a daunting thing but no where near as bad as it seems.
Hope it goes ok for you pal.

And i'm sorry to tell you this but those were my exact symptoms before I was diagnosed.
I would drink a pint of water and not long after i'd need another drink. I lost around 2 stone in weight and I was always tired.. As I said above, feel free to message me anytime

Grandad went blind and died of it, my uncle is on injections, my dad is on tablets. Apparently it runs down the male side of the family so i have to get tested for it every 6 months but ive not done the test for a few years now.

Bare in mind it was 5 years ago so it's a bit blurred but I remember the doc saying if it wasn't diabetes i'd need a brain scan.
I'm almost certain that if it's anything it's diabetes though.

Yeah but don't let it scare you, as I said, if it's anything at all it'll be diabetes.

that definitly sounds like it.
i am a diabetic for the past 16yrs. take it from me its all about control. but you do get used to it.
they are changes all the time in the way its treated. since i was diagnosed i have gone through 4 different regimes and each time it gets closer and closer to living a normal life.
i am currently on 5 injections a day using 2 different types of insulin.
the way i looked at it (aged 12!) was that its here, its not going to change. just accept it and work with your doctors.
best of luck

I'm on the same as you then, Gsi. First of all I was on 2 injections daily and I had set times in which I had to eat.
Now I can eat when I like and basically what I like, just increase or decrease my insulin to suit my needs.
There will be a cure one day, when I was diagnosed they predicted within 5-10 years there will be a cure.

If you suspect you have diabetes, get it checked asap. As it may not be just diabetes you have, it could be secondary to cushing's syndrome or pancreatic disease.

You should not wait until you can be "bothered" at the end of the day it's health and that's something you don't take chances with.
