I have a lot of time for these cars at the moment, especially in red, blue or white.
Are these C20LETS? I know there are a few with V6's (is that standard?) but I feel that might be a bit too much.
What are people's opinions/experiences of these?

No mk3 astra came from factory with either LET or V6 fella
There are alot more let mk3's compaired to v6's. Mine's a v6 and i absolutely love it, perfectly balanced imo, handles very well and the torque is awesome, not to mention the sound
a few simple-ish mods and you can see 200bhp+ from the c25xe lump, mine was rr'd at 211bhp with fpr/exhaust/filter/3.0ltr cams and thats basically it from what i can remember.

So what are the GSi's as standard? 1.8?
I just fancied one as a next car and everyone else seems to have done LETS into corsas novas and such

Id say its about the same rate if not more let's in mk3's than corsa's. Just works so well.
That one in the pic iirc is running something silly like 660bhp

My advice would be to have even a tiny bit of an idea about a car before you decide to buy 1,
Gsi's were 1.8's that you never see, and 2.0's, both ecotec and redtop 130bhp/150bhp, The ecotec's were the later ones p/r reg, they came with diff skirts and are rarer but slower, But they do look nicer,
But if you want a turbo or a v6 you will have to build 1 or buy one done, My mate has a black 1 for sale, its running about 300bhp on a nearly new engine, I cant believe how well the engine runs, comes on boost and holds it so well,
Also another of my mates had a R-reg on running about 300 also, that 1 was sweet, not sure where that is these days,
I have also been told they weigh less than corsas,

Astras weigh in at just under 1200kg.
Heres my old V6 GSI that i built from a factory standard P1 GSI......

Was running around 200 bhp with filter,3.0 cams and 3.8bar FPR.Went really good, used to eat XE corsa and keep with an XE Nova.
And the acceleration with the F20 was imense.
With a cone filter these are one of the best sounding Vaux engines imo.
