I have seen a mod for a nova where a bigger rear turrets are made and a complete coilover is fitted instead of a spring and seperate damper. Has anyone doe this mod to a corsa ?

Very messy welding there but i suppose it is possible on anycar but doubt insurance will cover you. I dont see much point tho as surley a decent set of seperate springs and shocks will be more than sufficient for a road car.

And is it me or are those rear piston rods loose? Doesnt look right.

You don't need to do this as the avo kit comes with coilovers that fit in the origanal turret and i'm sure there are others

Yes but 90% of the time they dont fit without hammering the inner arch for extra clearence.
The coilover can sometimes rub the tyre sidewall too.

AND, using the original turret means your putting all the cars rear end weight onto the rear beam, which the beam was never designed for(the std chassis spring plates support the car originally)

turreting is always better, it's not just a case of if it fits....fine, the shocks have to be as vertical as possible so you get more shock travel for wheel travel, which means better damping.

Lee on his Nova(first pic) used MK2 Escort turrets and fitted them to suit the nova. Which is possible the best way of going about it, not cutting and shutting and bashing.

mk2 escort turrents are £70, you will probably never find second hand turrets, unless they have cut them off again
