The misses wants a kitten, ive never had one ive always been a dog person always had dogs when was living with the parents was wondering who on here has a cat are the good and bad points of owning them. I heard its better to get a female? Im still only considering this though because i live in massionetts with no garden and i would be quite paranoid letting it out around here live right next to a main road, does anyone own a cat that stays in the house?

I've got 2 kitty's.
Jelly and Custard. Both are twin sisters, and have had them from just over 4 weeks old.
Girls are easier to look after because they don't spray their territories etc.
They are so much fun and an absolute pain in the ass too
They will shred things up for fun, but when you watch them, they're the cutest little shits around. Mine stay in the house but get let out in the garden sometimes. They wander back in when they get bored.
Pro's, very cute and relatively easy to look after.
Con's, cat food stinks, cat shit stinks, cat piss stinks, constant vacuuming the carpet and tidying up of their mess, like kitty litter, and toys etc.
Love mine to bits

No idea, I don't keep track of costs.
At a guess, no more than £10 per cat per week?
You'll spend more on getting bits and bats, like cat trays, bowls, basket, toys, collars etc.

I was thinking if i had one i would need to get another for it to have a little company we both work and they would be on their own for atleast 6 hours a day, inside aswell?

Thats what I thought too. Hence why I have 2 sisters. They groom each other and keep each other company and run all over the house together.
Tip: They love cardboard boxes to dive in and out of. Cheap toy

If you're getting kittens, then prepare to teach them rules. They're only babies, so they'll naturally go around exploring and learn right from wrong.
They might rip some stuff up and chew on wires, but nothing a telling off won't sort out.

They don't HAVE to...
If they're house cats, then there isn't much need. Might get fleas or worms in the future, but nothing an off the shelf product won't cure.

Spose it would be the same with black cats on white clothes! I would like ginger or tabby, black cats freak me out

The majority of ginger cats are boys. Quite rare to find a ginger breed girl kitty apparently.
Cat hair sucks tbh

Watched my cousins cat for a fortnight whilst she was on holiday here's my conclusions; they hiss and scratch, you can't take them for walks, they leave hair all over the place, they smell and from what i could gather they bring nothing good to the table
