Just after reading drunkenfool's post, it seems there are a lot of parents who have spit up... It was a traumatic time when my parents split up, but that was 4 years ago when I was 18. Its weird to say, but I feel completely fine with it now (because I have to be I suppose). I cant ever imagine my mum and dad speaking again, let alone getting back together... Although I was a hell of a lot happier when they were together.

Yes. My dad had an affair, I told my mum, she left the country with me and my sister. Never went back to my dad. I didnt speak to him for a long long time. Things are normal-ish now, we all talk. Hes forever trying to tell my mum what shes missing. He cant seem to understand why my mum left him, and blames her for it.

Mine divorced when I was about 15, so 8-9yrs ago now.
Got back together a few years ago.

My mum and dad split up when I was four. Both have re-married and my mum since divorced again. My mum and dad could never get back together

Mum and Dad split up when I was 15, luckily I didn't have to deal with being upset over that, since my Mum died about 10 days later

My mum and dad split up coz my dad kept having affairs.
Wasn't there when I was born coz he was shagging someone else in a hotel darrrn saaarf.

how long did you live there?
my mum had 3 jobs after my dad left just pay the mortgage etc - if i wasnt under 16 at the time she would have lost the house etc

Yeah my mum just left, with nothing. moved to rented with the help of my gran and grampa.She never went back to the family house.

Parents got divorced when i was 4 cos my mum was cheatig on him with one of his friend's husbands Mum got custody and stopped us from seeing our dad for years (which I still blame her for  ). My mum lived with a CUNT of a boyfriend from when i was about 8 to 20 years old (last time i saw him i ripped teh windscreen wipers off his car and spat in his face, thats how bad he was) so i worked 2 jobs all the way through college just to be able to afford to move out of home when i was 17. My dad was with a woman called Elaine for about 8 years and she was lovely, i still talk to her quite often, but they got divorced about 18 months ago, and my dad moved back in with my mum about 4 months ago.

Saying that, I sometimes think they'd be as well divorced - they kind of just about put up with each other
Dads away on a weeks golfing holiday just now, and mum couldn't wait till he was gone

Mine split up when I was 10. My dad went off with some woman he worked with.
Used to see him all the time then didn't really see him for about 6 years from when I was 14.
Got back in touch with him when I got engaged/found out I was having a baby as didn't want my kids to not know him.
Get on really well with him now but don't see him that much as we're both busy most of the time.
Now I'm the one getting divorced and just hoping it goes smoother than my parents did
