16 digit long big number = card number.
Numbers spaced with '-' = sort code.
That leaves only the 8 digit number left on my cards

yorkshire bank has a 19 digit card number accross the middle, then a sort code, then a 7 digit card number. I just need the account number, and its not the 7 digit one. All my cards have an 8 digit account number clear as day, the card im trying to put money into isnt clear at all. Its a Maestro card.

Not every bank card has the account number on it.
My RBS one doesn't for instance.

Well, if its a switch or maestro card, then you have 4 digist which represents the switch/maestro/whatever (usually 6759), then you have your 6 digit sortcode, then your 8 digit accoutn number, but thats only for debit cards, if yours is just a bank card then it may not be on there
So for example, if your sortcode was 10-10-10 and your account number was 12345678, and it was a switch card your number would most likely be
675910101012345678

Again with RBS, debit card, the card number isn't related to the sort code or account number.
