I think its stupid she cant wear it as its all shit health and safety rules these days - but I can kind of understand why the school have a blanket ban on jewellry.
And she is a stupid bint for needing to wear a braclet to remind herself of her religion.
If she wants to wear it then fuck off back home where the rules allow you to, if not live by our rules and STFU.

How does wearing jewellery affect their education though?
My old school youd get expelled for having a skinhead,werent allowed back till it grew back so all the boys where having skinheads.
Rules in school are fuckin stupid tbh.

The rule is more than likely there for safety reasons (it getting caught on something and injuring you on school property, etc.)
The skin head thing is more down to the look the school wants to give out - i.e dont want lads having stupidly short or long hair, ties undone, shirts untucked, etc.

Yeah, I agree.
The school ban is stupid, but you can understand as well that there's no need for jewellry in school. H&S or not.
She's just being a total 'tard for taking this to the courts. The reason for wearing it's just made up because she's been excluded from school.

and theres no rules on jewellery clothing or anything and i can safely say their more happier.

When I was at college they didnt have the rule either. A guy was driving his car in the car park a bit fast, hit a speed bump and threw it into a tree. He had his arm out the window with some chav braclet on and it got caught and ripped half the skin off his arm. He tried claiming off the college!
So I can see why they enforce it.

My mate fell in a corridor his parents sued the school,the floor was bone dry, he was walking but he managed to break his ankle
I personally dont beleive in her being able to wear it because of religion crap..religion is the route of all evil imo,its just an exscuse for her to wear jewellery.
but its still a stupid rule imo.

I wear religious jewellery, i wouldn't take it to court to get away with wearing it though i just would and i'd tell anyone who told me to take it off to do one in no uncertain terms.

Yeah but the school have to try to limit it somehow, and one way is to prevent wearing certain things that could cause more damage or cause accidents.

Ive had experiences of both these Robbo, a kid sliced my head open by hitting me, thing was we were only play wrestling aswell, and I pulled a mates earing out in PE by accident (jumped up for a header and caught his sleeper with my finger), we have always had the no jewellry rule in my previous schools, in both incidents the Health and Safety got involved with the school.

Health and Safety is secondary to the rules.
The rules are there because the people in charge want authority. The schools mistake in all of this was to not admit this and to try and say it was a symbol of affluence. This of course is a gift to the other side, who on proving that not to be the case have effectively won.
They would have done better being honest and saying 'it's our school, these are our rules, look happy or move along'.
It has bugger all to do with whether anything affects her education. Of course it doesn't. Neither does smoking on the break. Neither does stealing from the canteen. You going to allow them now?
