Off to Playa Das Americas Friday - anyone going same sort of time? Theres only 2 of us going as we have been let down and stitched up by some of the group - hoping its going to be busy out there, i have never been there

I went about 3 years ago and hated it, filthy place, honestly never seen so many cockroaches in my life!! On the other hand I know people who go year after year and love it.

i'm going friday night also mate, to the esmeralda playa hotel

i've been there before and it was awesome.

the volcano, the beach, the sea, the water park

people say its a shithole but they obviously have only stayed in 3 star hotels or something.

you'll probably find they've booked a cheap deal and got 2 star efforts and have the cheek to complain when its manky...]

i've been going to tenerife for over 10 years and stayed in a variety of hotels. The only real places you will find are "manky" are around veronicas and the hotels the 18-30 / freestyle /twentys mob frequent.

I stayed in a lovely 4 star, water park was spot on everything outside of that was awful and dirty tbh. As I said before though I know plenty of people who love it.

it's pretty good from what i can remember. obviously not like the real clubbing destinations ibiza etc but still able to get cheap drinks, good music and some nice girls.

i'm in a long term relationship so i'm going there to chill out on the beach and go to the water park and mount teide but if you're single it'll be a good laugh indeed

Hopefully it'll be good - im really sceptical about it, weve paid alot of money and the reviews arent great for the hotel

I been to Zante 3 times so i cant be worse than some 3star place in Greece??

We went about 4 years ago. Stayed in a nice 4* hotel which was great. However down the Veronica's strip the place is filthy. We went in one bar and the wall was crawling with cockroaches.

It was a shit hole.

But I have also heard it has since been shut down and cleaned up.
