My dad popped into arnold clark yesterday to sign some things to officially order the Focus RS
The three colours they're offering are green, blue and white. He decided white would be the best colour.
He's also going for the full leather, sat nav, bluetooth and some intenal power supply. I thought it was a wierd option, but he wants if to be highly spec'd.
Roll on 2009...

did he ask about the new white, electric white?
its a new colour with a blue fleck in it which shines in the sun and will be coming out soon. it was shown on a white focus st next to the green rs at the motorshow.
IMO i'd go for the green as it's one of a kind, whereas there are already loads of blue and white focus st's.
but that's me, i love colours that stand out
internal power supply is standard on my car and i never use it probably good if you need to charge your phone/ipod up etc whilst your at car shows.
full leather is a must but sat nav is something i would've forgot about, just get a tom tom for 100 quid and save yourself 400 odd quid?

No, i don't think he even knows about that. I've never seen or heard of it either. You got any pics?
He wanted white for the resale value. The green is quite special, but its a total marmite colour and it might not be to everyones liking.

For the moment, they're the only colours being offered.

i had some, deleted them though, will get some for you from focus st oc now.
unfortunately white isn't too good withregards to re-sale value, but might be different with a limited production rs.

In years to come the green one will be the one that everyone wants

Maybe it will be, maybe it won't...
I'm actually curious to see what colours are going to be the most popular.
I think a lot of people will go for the green so it'll be quite common.
That electric white looks ace, but my dad was quite keen on getting some white wheels too. I'm not 100% sure white wheels would look that good with the pearly white.

I may well bow to your knowledge as a Foird employee BUT I spoke to a FOrd tech at the Motorshow... the white on the ST was not electric blue and I was told by him that that is NOT the white coming on the RS and the RS white will be flat, I was a bit disappointed as that ST looked amazing

it's electric white and it will be out soon but not yet.
i don't know whether it comes on the rs or not, or whether it will replace frozen white totally (like they did with diamond white)

I think the RS would look better with the flat white anyway.

I think blue will be the most popular colour, it's the 'safe' one, the one which you can sell on in a few years time and not have any trouble getting it gone.
The green is a limited run colour, so they'll be worth more in the long run, like Aubergine Escort Cossies are these days.
Judging by the amount of white STs about, it'll be the least popular colour, so might be a strong second hand seller as they'll be harder to get hold of.
I imagine a blue RS to be like an orange ST TBH, everywhere.
I'd go for white.

I think orange and green both look good but being launch colours, they date. Same as the orange on first edition RR Sports, they are going for less than black/silver ones. May be different market for the Focus though.
I would go for white just because I think it's the nicest. And I would go for flat white at that. I've never once seen a pearl that didn't look dirty in most lights. White should be bright and cold looking, not swish and luxurious.
