My dad does it, but through an agency, pay isnt great but he enjoys being out in the fresh air and meeting people. Change of scenery after being stuck in a factory doing shifts for 30+ years

bingo although I dont think he particularly disliked his old job. He just took an opportunity to have a change There are down sides, as with any job. Working 6 day weeks instead of 5, early mornings, bad weather, carrying alot of weight and it does put alot of strain on your knees/joints

£7.80 an hour, i'm rota'd for 9-2, go in at 7 to sort the round in the morning, get 2 hours extra pay, but normally finished the round at 1230-1ish, so get paid 35 hours a week. Work less than that.
It's a piece of piss, and i get to listen to the radio or my iPod everyday, was just a nice change from bar work.
And you don't HAVE to work the 6 day week, it's optional, obviously you get overtime for it.
As for weight, if you've got a car then you can sort that out, i've only strained myself a couple of times in 4 months that i've been there, and obviously the bag gets lighter pretty quick!

Also, i'm looking at a part time afternoon/evening job just to get a little bit extra cash, when they occasionally get my pay correct i take home 230+ after tax per week.
Pretty much everyday there's an option to do an extra round if you want the money, and can be bothered, the routes i've been doing at 12-15 miles walking anyway, so i'm normally knackered after 1 !
Can't complain

My mate did it, you get alot of free time to yourself if you are quick. He started about 6 but was home by 12 every day. Another lad I know does it and pretty much has another full time job aswell. Its probably not a bad job if you can do early mornings, not exactly stressful.

I've done it for about 2years now! I'm on £8.60 p/h which isn't great but isn't bad either! I've managed to get off posting door to door and do mainly rural van driving to farms and small hamlets etc. Good thing is when your done your done even if its before your finish time! I also do quite abit of overtime as its a piece of piss when you have a van to do it in!
The thing is now though Royal Mail will only take on part time contracts. So most posting jobs are 20/25 hour contracts over 6 days which is crap!

Our contracts are 6 days a week for 5 weeks then you get your 6th week off! So your banking a day every week!
