Alright all,

Have a mate who is after a new bike, can only be up to a 250cc due to being 20.
Price really isnt too much of an issue and needs to look super bike like?

Any links and info will be appreciated.

Cheers

err... why can it only be up to 250cc? that makes no sense.

Before you pass a test you're limited to 125 and under 12/14 bhp or whatever...

If you pass your test (not direct access) you're limited to 34 bhp

and if you pass direct access you can have any power.

afaik, you're not limited to 250?

For example a 250 cc Aprilia RS is 65 bhp. so you'd be breaking the law on those grounds.

Screw legality, insurance, tax, etc. In fact, bin the plates and go and steal petrol too. I'm guessing he's downloaded an mp3 or two in his time, so it's totally justifiable.

Not sure why you'd want to just get a 250 at 20? You'll get bored quickly

The 250 ninja is not too bad.

Dont get an rs125...
So expensive for the same money you can buy a decent 600 and have reliablity.

If his done his licence then he can buy a Hayabusa1300 just as long as its restricted to 33bhp, can buy anything he wants.

Nobody bothers with the ristriction and there is no way for the Police to check the power on road side or atleast I have never seen it.

If it HAS to be a 250 then make sure it's a 2-stroke or it'll be very boring...

RGV250 or the RS250... I doubt you'll get your hands on an NSR.

But yeah, I'd get a 400 (VFR, RVF, ZXR, CBR, etc) or a 600 (RR, R6, 636, Gixxer, etc) tbh...
