dont sell it
she proably trusts you keep it and pass it down to your children, although recession might have taken over by then and you may need to sell it .

I'm not having kids and she only asked me to see if it's worth anything on ebay.

This is starting to freak you right out isnt it.....seen you mention it a few times
Id never sell my grandads watch, its the only thing ive got to remind me of him. I hardley ever wear it as its very old looking. Still nice to have though as a memory, the fact its worth a bit means nothing.

Just be careful that a shop doesn't say 'hmm worth £500 max' you sell it and they sell it for £5000
if the new one's are worth £2000 - then the classics are probably worth a fortune!
auction job!

for people who say don't sell it...
I'd be more gutted if I kept it and it was stolen, smashed or damaged.
At least if you exchange it for A LOT of money then you can spend it on something you'll actually use, rather than be locked in a draw.

If you get 500 quid for it chances are you'll squander it on shit over an evening anyway.
My grandad died when I was 4, my granny kept that watch until I was 21 to give it to me as one of his wishes, when she told me I was in tears....Id rather keep my memories than cash in on my grandparents wishes Ta
