It has to be cheap ish on insurance and has to be capable of 40mpg. Prefer a small, fun hatch.

Any ideas welcome!

None of those will do 40mpg though probably low 30's realisticaly.

Dont think you will see 40mpg and fun unless its desiel

Not a chance on 40mpg in a 172 while having fun, or any other time apart from driving on a motorway downhill at 50.
