hey guys, pulled off from my drive this morning to notice a small blotch of oil on the floor!

checked under the car and seen there was a bit of oil about to drip off the gearbox.

however there was also oil all over the gearbox casing.

i think the gearbox gasket has gone? any other suggestions?

cheers

If its black and ontop of your gearbox as you look into your bay, it could be rocker cover or something.

TBH its impossible to tell without seeing it.

Could be coming from anywhere as it will spread and go the lowest poin of the car, More then like a gasket seal somewher, get it up inthe air, clean it all off, run the car for a while and see where it starts coming from

could be driveshaft oil seals, best thing to do is get it all steam cleaned, get it up on the ramps and see where it starts to drip from. Gearbox oil starts off being red, but is usually brown by the time it comes out the box. Wipe it with a cloth, and smell it, if it stinks really really badly, then its most likely gearbox oil. It has a very distinctive smell.

also...i drove about 12 miles to my cousins house to use his pit so i could get a better look underneath...pulled up over the pit and as i was about to jump in, water was pouring out from somewhere underneath. opened the bonnet and the water in the water tank was bubling hot...any ideas what the problem is?
