if you tax a car online can you drive it on that day or will u have to wait to display the tax disk?
atm there is no tax on the car.

No there two serperate offences
Driving with no tax and failing to display a tax disk.
So if you have paid online, but have not recieved your tax disk you can still be done for failing to display if caught

You need to display the disc to be completely legal even if you technically have it.

think you should still have the tax disc on show but with it all being electronic i assume you could drive now as the anpr 'shouldnt' pick it up as untaxed.
wouldnt really trust my answer though as im not sure

correct, if a coppers following you and does a check it will show as taxed however if a copper or a traffic warden see's no valid tax disk they will do you. Max fine is £2000 although when my mum got done for this (she forgot to put her tax disk in) , she got a £60 fine
