im guessing i take the headlight apart and smoke the chrome bits in side?

Yeah, You have to melt the glue first, to get it open. Some people stick it in the oven, some in a bucket of Hot water, some use a electric paint stripper. Then spray the chrome bit black. and stick it back together with tiger seal.
