Fella on another forum had a nasty accident

Here is it before:

And after:

quote:
Driving from the north east back to Worcester on Sunday night we had a slight accident.

As we were going along had seen a large patch of standing water and commented to the other half on it and backed off the throttle. As I backed off car went light and that was it.

We span 180 and ended up facing a lorry in lane one before it collected us and we effectivly started getting pushed along in a T-Bone fasion. Lorry grill pushing my drivers door.

We then got rolled over and as we went over the lorry went over the car and as we came from under the lorry we flipped over again.

My friend in the back seat crawled out through a back window, my fiancee and me crawled out through a door which was pried open by people that had stopped.

We all were mobile and generally ok. I have some cracked ribs from the inpact with the stearing wheel and roof pushing me down.
Fiancee came away the lightest with a scrapped shin and somewhat tender.
My friend came away with internal brusing and aching.

They rate RTA on a 1 - 10 scale and according to the fire brigade we were a "holy st, you 3 came out of that".

If we had been in the mrs's corsa we all feel the outcome would of been very different and I probably wouldn't be writing this.

Guess I'll have to start the fun process with this insurance and see how good they are.

Picture of the car at the recovery yard (engines intact, its just the rest of it is a bit shall we say damaged)

I know i was joking, thats not your average crash from reading the post of the driver the same as monsters wasnt, crashes to that extent are near enough always going to leave a car in that state

Least all 3 got out

in those circumstances, you're just a passenger tbh, not much you can do to get out of it unscathed. just drive through it and hope for the best.

Poor sod and a terrible waste of a fantastic car.

I've hit standing water at speed on two occassions in two different cars several years apart and got away with it, just.

How I did, I don't however know. Shear dumb luck no doubt.

The first time was in the RS with passengers on board and I was petrified for their safety too. Annoyingly, none of them were any the wiser of what had occurred as they were deep in conversation at the time.

The second time I was on my own in the V8, It was late and dark and the road was almost deserted. The effect was far more violent because the back wheels aquaplaned on what was to all intents and purposes an invisible hazard. I had no idea it was coming.

The back wheels lit up and slewed the car left without warning. I corrected and the car instantly started to fishtail. I over corrected and turned it into a proper tank slapper. I've never been so bloody scared in all my life. I fought with the wheel for what felt like ages and eventually got it straight and drove the rest of the way home VERY slowly.

On both occassions I instantly had images of the kind of wreckage shown above, plus horrible injury or death flash through my mind, but somehow got away with it.

I must have nine lives.

Shame the same can't be said for that Monaro

Glad none of the occupants were badly hurt.
