i have a mate who's split up with his ex recently. She's told him after about 3 weeks of it happening that she's sick every morning and evening without fail. Now he's obviously s***ting himself and keeps asking me for advice/to talk and i don't really know what to say to him. I've never really experienced it. There is a chance he maybe getting back with his ex but he doesn't know yet.

Alot of you are older than me, and wiser, so give me advice with what to say please?

Sounds like a headfuck, she'll have got pregnant to get him back and not neccesarily with his child. Either that or its a complete bluff.

She needs to do a test as soon as possible so she can consider her options as soon as possible. If she's waiting until Thursday then you already have a problem because if she's making silly decisions over things like that, discussing whether to keep it will be even more difficult.

I assume they're both quite young? There is professional help available. If you're not familiar with where to go locally then you GP surgery will have details.

You might also have a Brook or FPA clinic locally -

http://www.brook.org.uk/content/M1_gotobrook.asp
http://www.fpa.org.uk/finder/

Childline will also deal with it if you're stuck - 0800 1111

Your best advice is take it seriously and soon. I would also recommend that they deal with being together and the pregnancy separately. It won't guarantee that the relationship lasts and they might get together on the false promise of things being right, keep the child and the realise it wasn't the right thing to do. They finished once already, don't forget that. And it's too late when it's born to wish you'd just done what you needed to back then.

Call me an old cynic but i've heard this identikit story 15 times before. If she does pop a sprog get a paterny test done, if she's bluffing your friend should scratch her out his life.

He's also 19 with a girl he left once already. I want children and I've got 11 years on him, but I'm not about to have one to the wrong person under the wrong circumstance.

yeah i know, it does happen many times but this girl is different, she's told her mum and everything. Her mum obviously went mental.

i know full well who the dad is if she does "pop" we'll see. Doubt she's pregnant but there's a possibility

I think you're giving her too much credit. Call my cynical but she's very young. I wouldn't suggest for one minute that she is in control of the situation.

Thursday?

FFS Tesco sell pregnacy tests that are 99.9% accurate for a quick answer, even if shes gunna get a proper test done.

Then, he needs to find out if its his or not. If she is preggers and it's his, he needs to conveince her the fuck to get rid of it, then scratch her out of his life.

If she is and it's not his, tell her to GTF and she can start spending my tax.

I would go to the chemist or supermarket to get a kit and do a test.

Usually I would say she is making it up to get back with him.

But, since she told him she was being sick regular then it seems a bit different to usual. Maybe she thought it through who knows.

Either way, pregnancy test thing or ians advice
