I want to know somthing.....

If i wanted to buy into a company and needed to know there financial information ie profits..turnover etc etc would that be available to anyone? Sounds strange but i think company information can't be kept secret or somthing?

BTW I know the company and there accountant well but don't want the company to know that i'm looking into the affairs etc

if its limited you can get them from companies house, if its something like a soul trader/partnership then ask the company nicely (they dont have to publish theirs but limited companies do)

if they arent limited then you should ask the company as the accountants shouldnt let you see them but who knows

Yeah it's a limited company now Thanks for the advice guys.

Basically i work for a guy who has his own company and i know his accountant BUT i don't want to ask the guy about his finances(even though i know basically what his turnover etc is just not exactly) incase he over exagerates and i pay a higher price to buy into the company. And neither do i want to ask the accountant and it getting back to the guy i work with and spoiling me working out my plans.

Sounds very complicated but it isn't

I thought you worked for a large motor franchise.

companies house has info on profit/loss & a companies status, ive used them before to seek info on if a company has went bust.

Yeah just download the info of Co House however it will most likely be Abbreviated accounts and have very very little info in it

Best thing to do is approach the company and request permission to see the latest set of signed full accounts
