Got any music shops near you?
Or factories that package stuff?
Couldn't you use flower shop oasis stuff as a prototype etc?
Or how about using polystyrene?

Yeah i guess, Oasis is really crumbly when you start choppin gin my experience...which is little
Music shop, but its small and only sells guitars and piano's
Polystyrene Maybe, but same problem where can i get quite a lot either when i finish today or tomorrow.
Whatever it is has to be fairly strong as it'll be having a lot of weight in it being thrown around.

Builders merchant. Might have some of the flooring and insulation in stock still. Don't try Homebase, but somewhere like Buildbase or Travis Perkins etc

When I was at work with dad the other week, the floor was using block and beam, except the there was no block, just this thick polystyrene stuff. It is safe to walk on when linked into the concrete beams, so should do the job.
If not you can get wall and floor insulation (only about 100mm thick mind) which is like foam, with foil one side and paper the other

have you got a market near you? in wycombe market there's a stall that sells massive blocks of foam in all sorts of densities.
I'd debated making myself a sofa before now.
