well that time of year again.......the car is fine except i've been worried about the emmissions due to doing an engine conversion about 2 months ago.

would of past first time but for a rusty hole in the floor......garage want 25 quid to weld it up.....not bad i suppose.

mechanic said it was a good little car

no more sleepless nights now worrying about emissions.....they were spot on worrying for nowt

sorry.......1996 corsa premier in smoke grey

was 1.2 8 valve with f13 gearbox

now x16xe with f15 gearbox

wossner pistons and con rods
newman 288 cams
arp con rod bolts
quaife diff

when its passed mot (mechanics doing work tuesday) I'm fitting throttle bodies and having it mapped......i'm expecting around 180bhp!

a small fortune.......my local auto factors got them for me,

wossner pistons and con rods were 1800 quid
newman 288 cams were 380 quid
arp bolts were about 90 quid

not cheap i know......but love the power, even with standard management and standard inlet......can't wait to fit the new ones.....vroooooooom

no thats right 1800 quid!

forgot to add.........all brakes and suspension have been upgraded too.....don't want you all thinking the car isn't safe!

cavalier 2 litre brakes with red dot pads
eibach -50mm lowering kit

and for those wondering why i didn't put a red top in...........cheap tax! well cheaper than 2litre (or will be when it goes up)

got some engine laquer (spelling?) off ebay......tenner with postage

good paint but block has to be clean....i steam cleaned it

Cheap tax the tax is the same for both i just taxed my 2.0

yes but when the tax goes up....isn't anything 2 litre and above going to be 400 and odd quid?

i'm not over sure myself but thats what i thought

Tax has already gone up Only newer cars are going to be silly money For my 2.0 it was either £101.75 for 6 months or £185 for 12 months

why are you swapping a redtop for x16xe?.......I'm just wondering

i love my x16xe just need throttle bodies fitting and a remap and then its finished..........and wondering should i sell it and start a new project?
