Me and the wife are wanting to go away in August somtime and need some ideas! We usually either go to Turkey (which we don't want to go to again) and places more exotic like Mexico and Florida which we can't really afford just after getting married

Has anyone been to a cheap hotel somwere that has really been good and suprised them?? Were not after luxery for just a week just a well placed and well looked after hotel.Thinking all inclusive if we can and places like Majorca, Minorca, Greece etc etc

tenerife has a posh part which is cheap and good for couples prob!
jus stay away from playa de las americas where the partys at

quite a lot of tenerife is nice,

los cristianos, playa paraiso which is about 15mins in a taxi from las americas, small area

Would be tenerife over benidorm anyday of the week for me, i've been on a lads hol to tenerife too, and had no probs, was a quite good hotel too

me and the wife are off to malta for a week next tuesday, £700 for the 2 of us, hotel looks alright, as long as its hot and i can lie in the sun then im happy!

Lanzarote is ok in terms of what you are looking for, have a mooch on www.icelolly.com I went all inclusive to over new year (via icelolly) for about £450 for a week which is an expensive time of year. Place I stayed was 2nd largest resort called costa teguise and was nice enough

hey, i'm going tenerife with my girlfriend in august

it's a nice place, but there are some shite bits as with most tourist places. we are going to a decent bit which i've been to before though, so hopefully no dog shits on the floor

We went on a cheap all inclusive to Majorca a couple of years back....place called Calas De Mallorca.

Quite quiet but really clean and generally a nice relaxing environment.

Also went on a cheapo holiday to Lorret De Mar - biggest shit hole on this planet so avoid!

Benidorm has people slagging it off but I think it's greatso try there.....

In August though you need to expect to pay well over the odds because it's school holidays. I'm going away with a lot of my family this year but had to go in the school holidays cos my sister works in a school...... was about £500 more for me and the missus than going early July

Gran Canaria - i went with the ex a few years ago stayed at some place called Kiwi Bungalows - couldnt have asked for better/cleanier staff/pool/food nice and queit too

Good shout, quality holiday we had there 2 years ago - defo recommend it and to eat out was pretty cheap to with BIG portions.

I went with my parents and the missus when I was 16 and thought it was great...... can't remember it being that much of a dump.

Basically one main street of bars leading right down to the beach..... I'd personally recommend it
