Have my mind set on a set of toyo proxies but is there anything else worth considering in 195/45/15 before I make the purchase?

Toyo's are gash and wear out far too quickly. Goodyear Eagle F1's all the way! Been on the LET for quite some time and still in great condition and grip well too.

I never rated Toyo Tr1 tires.

Rainsports are ace and I have Yokohama A539s on my rims at the mo

I found them shocking. Ok in the dry and terrible in the wet.I wouldn't recommend them to someone I hate tbh

Thing is, tyres that wear quick are the good ones...the old motorsport conundrum! But then I dont mind paying for these sort of tyres often, its what keeps me on the road.

I've got Paradas on mine now, and in the dry, they're just brilliant! Ok, they're a bit shoddy round bends in the wet, but are ok under braking, and i dont push in the wet anyways!

Do the Good Year Eagles have a rim protector on them...?

My car came with budgets when I brought it and they are never coming near a car I own again

I am not getting them today now anyway as the local place doesnt have a set of four of any of my choices

So my shortlist stands at

Toyo proxies
Uniroyal rainsports
Goodyear F1's

With the good years there are a few types are there not? which ones are the ones of choice?

And are they really worth the extra £££, wear rate isnt a massive issue as I dont exceed more then 400 miles a month

You want GDS3's or whatever they are. Look like Toyos. Mine have lasted forever and are still taking a battering on Wilson's Corsa today

Goodyear Eagle f1's are the bomb, they grip great wet or dry, plus there medium compound so they should last alot longer than proxes

they're not awful...they just dont really like being pushed. Then again, they've only been on the car 2 weeks, and although they were sticky from the start in the dry...are probably still bedding in!

They are slowly improving in the wet, but i've spoken to yoko themselves and they said its designed to be the one step down from the fully fledged A-049 track tyres...which are dry track-day tyres. So, i never really expected them to perform in the rain.

Like i said tho...i dont drive hard in the wet...
