Are you working?

Best way is to just cut out some spending and save up IMO.

stop spending
don't go out for a couple of months.
make sandwiches if you normally buy lunch.

I'd try and clear £1500 by scrimping and paying off chunks out of my wages rather than getting a loan or anything.
unless you can get a soft-loan or something from your parents?

Can you pay off using card? For that amount i'd try a credit card. Virgin Money, Bank of Scotland etc is good deals.

I'll try virgin money. tbh its a credit card and just another bit of money going out. but i want to pay it off via a direct debit or something in one payment.

If the debt is on a CC already then just pay as much as you can off each month, dont worry about getting it all gone ina hurry. If you are getting interest on the money then look into getting a new CC that offers interest free on balance transfers.

The only problem is, I just get refused on the amount of money, and I can't see why.
