Or to look at it the other way around, what sort of increase in power do you think a cat-back exhaust(with de-cat pipe), free flowing air filter, 4 branch, cams and a remap would make to a clio 182, realistically taking into account they more than likely arent 182bhp to start with?
Considering buying one when i get back from holiday in 2 weeks time, used to have a cooper S works(200bhp) so it would need to be somting similar in power.

They're around 170/174bhp to start with.
Try and get hold of a btb exhaust, they've got proven 8-10bhp gains. To start with, then probably cams / remap etc

Should really ask on cliosport but ...
Filter with cold air feeds, full system and de-cat, inlets matched, remap - 185 - 190ish
Cams aswell 190 - 195ish
TB's to take it over 200.
There not 182 standard about 175 ish

After talking to Mark Fish (real motorsport engineer)
He said to me that matching the inlets do nothing unless it follows through to a reworked head.
To get a genuine 200 bhp you will need
Cams
Maxogen filter (genuine 5-8 bhp from a filter)
Full exhaust system
Jernvey individual throttle body with cable throttle conversion
Omex

Judging from the responses then its not that easy to get 200bhp from the engine,
The cost of the car plus the mods to make it 200bhp would be about the same as buying another S works. Although i still think the clio would feel quicker due to its N/A engine and not having to wait for any supercharger to spool up etc.
Im fine with breating mods but when we start talking about head work and throttle bodies it turns into big bucks

It still acts as a restriction in cross sectional area though, reworked head or not. Every little helps.

No people who say there easy to tune are talking shit IMO. Mines got a full system and filter etc and i wouldnt say its any quicker
If you want some advise from someone who builds and runs clio cup race cars/ spider racers etc and has loads of expereance tunning n/a renaults contact Nick Hill at Hill power enginering
IMO to get 200 bhp you need to do exactly what Fad has said

I've raced against a well sorted clio, they can be made to go silly quick. I had 200bhp and it was sailing past me on the straights.

Is it hard because they arnt restricted as much as other cars from the factory?
So 190bhp is achieveable from:
Full system
Decent Filter
Cams
remap
I think i would be happy with this, when people say they are arounf 175bhp standard, does that mean that Type- R's are actually about 185-190?

I was going to say the same.
Extra power when you want/need it, and your fuel consumption won't be affected when you're not on the gas.

can make a maxogen pretty easily to be honest, espace v6 airbox, or even ITG with cold air feeds,
i dont think its worth it, filter, exhuast and remap will make it perfect in my eyes,
Brabus a mini cooper S is no quicker than a 182 in straight line though is it ? even with the extra BHP, genuine question
