Can't put it much better than in the title, but what's that vent-like thing that you see when you open the door on a 3-door Corsa B? I looked from low down and it looks like flaps that lift up to let air in but I have no idea what it actually is or how it works.
Can anyone enlighten me? Cheers.

Yeah mate, that bit
What does it vent though?
Plus I just don't really get it much seeing as if the door is closed surely it won't get any air?

It doesn't get much but it's outside of the seal and the door gap isn't air-tight.

Vents the inside of the car and helps the door close without bouncing back off the air pressure inside.

Exactly, where would you be without your waffle vent?
I for one wouldn't like to think about it.

sounds about right, but if the waffle vent fails you have the flapjack flap
I think someone should tell mike to put some on his bonet.... That would be interesting...
Im going to go take my medication now lol

To aid the easy closing of the doors, releasing trapped air from the door shut!
Also a handy location for popping dents out of your rear 3/4 panels instead of stripping away your interior door cards etc!

technically
It's there so the rear windows wont steam up,
There is foam inside the rear doorcards which soaks up condensation and the vent is there to let it breathe, because if it wasnt able to breathe the rear windows would be constantly steamed up
