As above really.

Taxed my car at the end of May but can't find the allen to take the back of my metal tax disc holder, I can't unstick it either as I can't get it off and I don't want to damage the windscreen by trying to pry it off with a screwdriver. So I stuck my new tax disc above the holder with some celotape, when I was driving to work I went past one of them DVLA tax check things am I likely to hear anything about it?

doesn't matter if you display it or not really. only if a bizzy stops you and asks questions; but they will just check on their database anyway.
