Sent for a tax rebate end of March.......still wating.

Phoned up just now....'were going through our backdated mail, it will take another 3 weeks'

Really thats not good enough!! If you owe them so much as a few quid their on you about it like your a theif. If they owe you hundreds of pounds in overpaid tax there sorry about the delay but do get a huge volume of mail on a daily basis

I need that money to pay my holiday next month

You won't get any compensation off them, they'll just say sorry for the delay and tbh they won't really give a fuck.

Adam's tax return was submitted last week and he got his rebate yesterday!

IMO, if you are due a rebate, then surely you should be getting interest on the amount since they've technically been 'holding' the money for you

Colin mum says to phone up your MSP's office (there's one in Grangemouth) ask him to investigate the unacceptable delay. Tell him your a student living on the breadline with a house to keep and that the IR owe you money. She says as soon as an enquiry comes in from an MSP the Inland Revenue will deal with it as a matter of urgency!!!

As soon as an MSP enquiry is recieved, they only have 3 days to give a satisfactory explanation and 9 times out of 10 that results in the refund going out in the next post apparently
