i am looking to put a new engine in my car as i blew the old one up which is an 1.4 8v sri any one got any ideas wot to put in cos i wanna do a lil project

You need to consider all the factors before you dump an engine in...

...can you get/afford the extra insurence? do you need to upgrade your brakes? suspension? etc..

X16XE if you dont want to go too stupid, my bro did it, but ended up with a duff engine! He actually had the X16XEL which was the engine that went in the Astra's so was very slightly more torquey but with slightly less BHP. Went really well though for what it was, I raced it on a trackday/offroady thing and hit 95mph, and I was only 14 at the time haha.

FFS whats wrong with a good ol XE?

Not 'cutting edge' enough for you lot now?

TBH if you have never done an engine conversion before it would be a good idea to stick to something tried and tested and more importantly well documented....an XE for example
