If 5 of you were in the car. You are the driver, you lose control and hit a lampost, wrapping the car around it and killing 4 of your mates.... You survive?
(Saw the story in the paper yesterday, found it online http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2008/06/02/four-teenage-best-friends-killed-in-car-accident-89520-20591739/ )
RIP to the lads, hope they're not anybody off here

obviously be distraught and mad at yourself, but it would really depend on the reaction of the families of your mates and other mutual friends.
try and deal with it all, but if worst came to worst and other effected parties persecuted you, move towns.

From the article is sounds like speeding and lost control.
Its a real shame and I dont think you could comprehend how you would feel after. I know of people who have knocked someone down and felt the only way out of it is suicide. So for it to be your four best mates, i dont think you could ever get it off your consciounce (sp)

i wouldnt have wanted to survive. if i ever killed anyone while behind the wheel of a car id never drive again i think.
but for him to kill 4 mates and survive thats going to be hard for him to get through it imo.

A lad who used to live across the road from me killed 2 or 3 of his mates when he crashed his car...was doing about 100mph and overtaking 5 cars in one go on a twisty road (The AA call it one of britains most dnagerous as it has claimed so many lives)...They Also found traces of weed in his blood IIRC...
...He's currently serving 6 years at her majestys pleasure, family have been ripped apart from what I hear

A lad from my work was on his way home on his motorbike, his mate spotted him coming up the road and thought it would be fun to pull out on him from a blind junction, killed him instantly. The lad in the car was charged and bailed, about 2 weeks after the accident the stupid fucker started trying to bait me into a race at exactly the place he killed his mate, eventually overtook me at about 70 on a 30mph single carriageway

I saw it in the paper, I couldn't live with it. Especially as it sounds like the driver was speeding so was completely at fault. Must be hell for everyone involved.

Depends. If it was a situation like that then i dont think i could live with myself. If i was driving at the speed limit, being sensible then it would still be hard, but not as bad

I wouldn't know what i'd do to be honest, im bad enough with my little sister in the car with how she sits and how i drive, i'd probally want to join them though if it was entirely my fault.

Actually we were talking about this today!! But not that accident
A girl on my training course's boyfriend was killed at the weekend in a oad traffic accident, her friend was driving hit a tree on his side he died in hospital & she survived with minor injuries. Its often the case.
Mind a mate of my old mans run down a wee boy & killed him on his way to work, the boy just run out & there was nothing he could do................that hit him very hard, couldnt cope!!
............accidents do happen & lifes delicate but it would take so much to get over something like that....you'd be gutted if anything like that ever happened, think id pack up & leave!!

Something similar happened to a bloke I know but it was a bike. It was the biker's fault but for months this bloke sort of couldn't help blaming hiself, he kept having flash backs too I think it's just something they don't talk about anymore, it can reck lives though, even when you're not at fault. I don't know what I'd do if it was my fault
