As a few peeps might know I'm learning to be a pilot...
On Friday I went for a lesson at 0900 and I've been hoping to go up on my own for a few weeks ago. The weather hasn't been too good as you need near perfect conditions to do it, and like previous days, Friday wasn't looking too good for it as there was a lot of low cloud and passing rain showers.
Anyway, I went up as usual and demonstrated a few practice manouvers to my usual instructor like engine failures e.t.c.. Landed as usual and went in. I was told to hang around a bit of possible as they thought there might be a break in the weather for a short while. Anyway I waited and sure enough I went up for my check flight with a more senior instructor to make sure I was up to check. Landed as usual and was told to park up but not shut down the engine...
I was told to go and do it on my own this time! So I was given my instructions to go up, fly a circuit of the aerodrome and land. So I did everything as usual took off and flew the plane all by myself then landed and parked up
Was amazing and I can't wait to do it again...
This was the plane I flew in..

Cheers
It's not too nerve racking flying at a low level around the airfield. Yesterday I went up to 5000ft to do some steep turns (banking the plane between 45 and 60 degrees) and it's been a while since I've gone that high. Bear in mind these planes weigh less than a Nova and are tiny!
