if your over 21 and you do a direct access then you can get on anything.
although i wouldnt unless you have some proper riding experience.
ive heard of so many people that have never riden before, do their test and jump straight on an R1

I have my DAS in a few weeks, did want an R6 but i couldn't justify the insurance and more than likely gonna have a fall on the first bike getting used to riding etc so gone for a slightly cheaper/easier bike to ride on for the first few months then onto the R6/CBR...

Have you had any quotes? I did my DAS when i turned 21 last year and got an R6. I pay £440 TPFT which is all you need when the bike only costs £2300.

I like it how everyone is saying get an R6 and be safe. There's not a great lot of difference between an R6 and an R1. Probably 3 seconds at the most around Brands Hatch Indy. I've been riding all my life and the R6 always has surprises... It's 120bhp going to one wheel... Power to weight ratio of around 800bhp per ton. I'd seriously suggest getting some experience first before jumping on one... I've seen 176mph on mine so really not for the faint hearted lol.
But yeah, superb bike... You'll love it.

cant see anyone here saying an R6 is safe mate what where saying is dont do your test and get the biggest bike around untill you are experienced.
a 125 is dangerous in the wrong hands. but you dont need me to tell you that

For some reason i always had fully comp, but i suppose if the bike is that much it might be worth tpft....quote came out at about 500 so that's abit more respectable.

Don't listen to people who say don't get an R6 Blah blah. I did for my first bike. There only dangerous in the wrong hands. Just go easy on it and you'll be ok.
