I am looking for a new bike so bike people I need your input
Type of Riding its required for:
Bit of everything these days,
Downhill, single track, freeride, XC basically an all mountain but more weighted towards the fun stuff and not the 5 hour trail riding. Although it will be used for decent trail rides as well.
I have narrowed it down to the following:
Foes - 2.1 FXR (sensible option)

Foes - The Fly (not so sensible)

Yeti 575 (sensible option)

Yeti Seven (not so senisble)

and lastly,
Intense 6.6

I am sawying towards the Intense 6.6 and the Yeti Seven, the reasons for this is that they are more fun bikes to me. I have my jump bike for street and dirt but falling off is becoming more of a worry, so we do it less now. Downhilll and freeride is a more controlable aspect of biking and as much fun imo. The new bike needs to grow with my riding likes as well, so it needs to be fairly easy to do longish single track or XC trails if required.
Very difficult to choose, any advice, gen or thoughts would be great

What do you class as "fun stuff" mate? If its big drops/northshore stuff then deffinately the fly for having fun. The rest look alot more xc orientated and depending how hard you ride i can see you forking out more money uprating rims and shocks etc

the big issue is work I have my own company and I am self employed. I used to do a lot of dirt jumping but when you come off a fair bit you start to worru about your job and were the money will come from if you hurt yourself
So I need to be senible to a certain degree but still have the option to have fun and do the odd large drop off if the situation is right/safe.
I am happy doing drop offs now on my hard tail cannondale chase 2, and I often to Black runs on my hard tail, so I am need something failry solid. However I also need to watch weight and comfort for riding for 3-4 hours and uphill

hmm, given the circumstances maybe the fly isnt the best option I know what you mean about getting older, i can still see the big lines down a mountain side etc but my future kicks in The fly is only single ring upfront - another killer up any kind of hill tbh I struggle like fuck with just 9 gears these days but too stubborn to do anything about it because i love the way mine rides

I would love the The fly but if I am spending 3k plus on a bike I want it to last and be able to adapt to my riding style, which no doubt will become more safe as the next few years go on.... sadly
still the kid in me says sod it and buy it, but then I would also go for the Intense SS over the fly anyhow......
so difficult!

I dont think i would be able to decide out of the above selection. All of them are so desirable! You thought about building from the frame up? then you can build it to what you want. Thats what I did with my beast, the only original part now is the frame

Rob I would prefer to buy a full build only due to my time restraints and to stop my spending even more money than I want to!!

I think I am more inclined to go with either the 575 or the 6.6 - I am not keen on the looks of the trek, although a friend of mine has one and loves it. Maybe thats why I dont want one, nice to have different rides.
