how much is a H reg GTI with 155k miles on it

Depends on condition.

Mk2 gold can go from £800 - £3000 for a good example.

And that milage is nothing to worry about,its just run in.

I bought mine for 500 as a non runner & sold it for 1500.

Expext to pay 1500-2000 for a good one, i.e. late model with no rust!

it has slight rust on the doors

lad says tick over is all over but he thinks it needs a good servicing

8v or 16v?

Rust on doors isnt the worst thing to happen, check arches, boot floor, under the battery, sill where the wiper blank is. Boolid!!

£400 sounds cheap, what colour is it, how many doors?

All over the place idle could just be a vaccum leak or needing tunned.

ive got a 5 door mk2 but its in a bad bad state but has all recaro interior etc so would strip that for parts aswell

as stated, floor, battery tray, boot, arches, sills, subframe usuall places, at 400 quids somthings gotta be wrong..
