Can anyone give me any background on how these work? In terms of buying a jap import?

I really am a bit confused about how the whole process works

What exactly is involved in getting a car off the boat from Japan and then getting it on the road in the UK? Costs and processes involved.

I really am just looking for as much info as possible atm

Having never done it I could be wrong. But I would think you are better off getting a broker like New Era to do all the work for you. You just look at the cars they have on offer, pay for it and they do the work of buying it, importing it and SVA'ing it for you...

Looked on ebay, pistonheads and autotader.

Tbh im going to go with the assumtion that cars outside the UK are in a better condition.

Ed, if i go through a broker you seem to pay through the nose . There are good examles going through the auctions for £1-2k starting bid. Which is peanuts

Its not going to be on the road untill December so im thinking that i have time to do all the SVA'ing MOT'ing etc etc myself
