. . .is it just me, or does it make you feel insensitive and a bit like a git when you overtake a funeral procession? On a motorway or proper dual carriageway, it doesn't bother me at all.
But today coming back from Uni there was a procession on a dual carriageway style road, but still in a relatively residential area. There was a long queue of traffic which I presume is people going to the funeral and I naturally overtook, keeping under the 40mph limit as I didn't see the hurse & funeral cars at the front. The whole line of cars were moving at about 15mph.
I don't know why, but I just didn't feel respectful to the people who have lost a loved one etc.
Just wondered what everyone else thought.

Because I was already overtaking, because there was about 6 cars behind the 2 funeral cars and 1 hurse, I didn't see it was a procession until I was beside the funeral cars.
I normally overtake anyway but still feel totally disrespectful.

Not at all....dangerous for them to be going so slow on that type of road
Obviously not fly past them all beeping but a sly overtake is fine, afterall nothing to do with you

To be honest, if i was dead, i wouldnt really be bothered if someone overtook me.
If you go flying past, on the horn, doing waayyyy over the speed limit, then people would think what a twat this guy is

It has nothing to do with the dead guy lying in the coffin for anyone saying you wouldn't GAF if you were dead
It's called respect.

TBH this probs sounds bad, but if it was local, i'd respect it and stay behind for ages and go slow. But if it was somewhere 50+ miles away, i'd probably try to overtake (if it was possible / right to)

If they are only doing 15 odd mph then you can pass quietly and discreetly. I'm sure if you did that everone involved wouldn't mind, they probably wouldn't even notice. If you screamed past at 5000rpm with the tunes blazing, now that would be disrespectful.

I like to do a 'police, camera, action' style skid and cut the hurse up, thus enable corpse to bust out the coffin and do a Drogba in the road.
