Not had a car now for about 2 weeks, managing suprisingly well Other than when I do drive a car Im a bit rusty

I may as well have a car to keep my insurance etc running, plus I suppose it may come in handy at other times. For around about the £1000 mark it's either something cheap, new & probably Korean, another Corsa, or something old & German

Im thinking maybe a MK2 GTI? But there are a few knocking about that aren't GTI's but look OK ish. But Im not sure how good they are to live with

Some examples

Mine was a nice drive, simple mechanics if it goes wrong, cheap for parts. I only got rid of my mk2 because I was changing job & doing 20k a year.....thought I needed something newer!

I love novas but between the two it would be a golf.

Better built, better looking, less things go wrong with them, dont rust as much as a nova i can go on and on.

That f reg golf looks tidy tbh, only thing that would bug me its got big bumpers with the small bumpers skirts and arches, kinda mis matched .

I couldn't buy a Mk1 if it wasn't a GTI.

I personally think mk2's are the best, i absolutely love them. Proper car's

Black, low as possible, with a decent set of alloys and it's perfection.

I've asked the fella how much he wants, plus he's in a hurry to sell.

Still think the Mk1 is cooler. Im also thinking it's coler because it's a not a GTI? But I don't know why Im thinking that?

MK1 Golf GTi

However if I were to choose between a MK1 and 2, it'd have to be a black big bumper model MK2 GTi, slammed on some nice wheels with smoked tail lights

It's nice but then again it's done 115,000 more miles than the other one! Plus it's service history is a bit sketchy

You'll always regret not buying a GTi if you bought a MK1 driver.

Get the Mk1

You can always stick a different engine in it at a later point, G60 like paul done? Weekend job. Keep the driver badges - win win
