Wouldn't bother with a buffer/machine polisher unless you know what you are doing (I dont)

Just use Autoglym Paint Restorer, then Super Resin and finish it off with some wax all by hand. Prob do the trick.

i use turtle wax colour magic to bring the red back (one with the chipstik) and then autoglym polish to seal it in.

Seems to work well

Go to halfords & get your self 3 packs of aplicator pads (you get 2 in each pack) & 3 packs of terry towels (2 in each again) & grab your self step 1, 2 & 3 of meguries cleaning set, bottle 1 is a paint cleaner bottle 2 is the polish & bottle 3 is a wax put a couple of layers on to finish it off, here's a picture of mine after doing the above hadnt used any think else previus to this so it show how good and easy it is to do, i used 2 pads & 2 towels for each step 1 for each side as mine got quite dirty after each half of the car,

I dont, just thought it was a simple case of adding some chemical and buffing till its shiny, im not one for spending ages doing polishing but dont want it faded

Super Resin Polish and a decent wax will do the job.

Important to wax it after polish otherwise you'll be forever in the position of trying to get the red back. A decent wax will lock your results in.

If you have a buffer save yourself the grunt work, get some g3 compound and some finesse. bish bosh

no point doing it by hand if you have a machine polisher

SRP won't really seal it mate as its a polish. Skip the AG Paint Renovator as its pretty harsh, start off with the SRP and either seal it with AG Extra Gloss Protection or get a decent wax.

I used G3 followed by G10 then machine glaze on mine using a machine polisher..

you need to remember especially if using G3 to make sure the head of the polisher is wet and you dont want to stay in one area too long as you can go through the paint..

pics..

to

and

to

If you dont want to use the harcore stuff like g3 stick with the suggestions of other members like auto glym or tcut

Your best bet is using G3 like Wrighty said, Just make sure you use plenty of water and keep the buffer moving.
Watch out for panel edges or panels that have been repainted as you're more likely to burn through the paint on these.
Just take your time and use loads of water.
