I always remember Ross, AK, ?Andy Stocker ?Oliver having Punto GT's (the same Punto GT in some cases!) They seemed to really enjoy them. Reasonably tuneable and not overly unreliable for a car of that age.

Price vs. mileage that seems like a good offer.

What year is it? The series 1 ones iirc used to have injector/ecu light on dash problems. But this was sorted in later models. Later models having a (slight) deficit in power.

Will be a Series 2 I think.

I think yes, for a small hatchback they are 'quick'/nippy cars. Given turbo too, more torque than n/a equivalent car of same power.

Dont know how far threads go back on here search-wise. but Ross, 'Vibrio', did a whole host of acceleration tests starting and going to various speeds for comparison.

GT1 (Nov 93-Jun 94)
GT2 (Jun 94 - Autumn 96)

As is N reg, (1995) must be GT2.

edit, unless of course it was registered ages after manufacture....

gt1 - more power less torque
gt2 - low both
gt3 - low power more torque

if i was getting one, id try find a GT3, but a GT2 (best interior by far) at such low milage is a no-brainer..

i sold mine and it was 98 GT3 for £2700 and it had a 68k, fucked windscreen, no 4th gear and a crease in the door..

and first person to see it bought it.

yes..

check the reason for such low mileage.. has it been stood?

if you do buy it i would service it immediatly, do a full filter and oil change.. and i mean all oils, gearbox, engine, clutch brakes etc.

check the turbo is holding boost.. the pressure will drop off at higher revs.

fuel tank is about 60L i could return about 25mpg maybe driving semi slow.

never driven a standard one, mine was on coilovers, strut brace, 16's and i think it handled remarkably well..

not sure on the gearbox, the original clutch went at 67K
