Front wheel isn't fitted, was just trying it for size. Wheels are Land Rover special vehicle Wolf rims, tyres are 275/75/16 I think. Needs a lift kit and arch mods before they'll bolt on but it needs work for the MOT first, going to get that done as standard and then start the mods.

Has this replaced the Freelander, because you need more towing/offroad ability?

Or is it because it's a pre-2001 car and you just want to piss off the government?

I seen a green one yesterday with the lift kit and big chunky wheels on Queens Drive, it was spotless though, not a spec of mud on it not even underneath, didnt see the point to just use it on the road. Was boss though

late series 1 judging by the seats? dont look like wolf rims to me tbh wolf rims normally have solid centers, without the holes, having said that the wolf term doesnt really apply to a specific version of the defender and was originally the landrover prototype designation..

looks nice though, as said you will need a camel cut on the arches and a 2" lift to fit those.. maybe best to run 35/40mm spacers as well or you will suffer on the steering lock i would imagine (i do on my defender anyway!)

I'm not sure myself on the wheels, someone had replied to the auction saying they were Wolf and the guy should advertise them as such and get more money. Was going to sell them on tbh as I don't even know if they'll fit. I hope the tyres go on the Disco alloys if not!

It's a 1991/J so yeah fairly early. Will be buying more bits over time but its a long term thing. Getting it legal and vaguely reliable is the first job.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

looks in vgc for a '91 specially for the seats and im guessing interior, quite rare to find them without the hideous blue or beige seats
