rod end is attatched to the track rod which is attatched to the steering rack. often its the track rod that bends, the rod end is just a balljoint.

Undo the bolt on the rod end where it attachs the rod. Then turn it anticlockwise until it comes out. Make sure you remember how many turns it does before it comes out because it you just stick it in and turn it til its tight your steering will be well out!

Quite!

I dont have much luck full stop tbh

Thats now (of my own making):

2 kerbs clattered and tyres sliced - 2 x new tyres required + 1 track rod end
1 car rolled off the drive into a neighbours parked car - 1 rear bumper re-sprayed
1 car reversed into side of house - 1 new entire rear bumper required + sprayed
1 car reversed into wall - no action
1 car door opened into brick wall - no action

Well i'm a 2nd year grease monkey, i just put my car on the ramp, sprayed some wd40 in about the nut on the balljoint and the locking nut on the tie rod, had a coffee and a smoke came back, cracked the nut buzzed the balljoint nut of with my airgun counted the turns off then new one one, whacked it all back together.

I done my tracking afterwards but only because i have access to equipment and it neeeded done anyways
