Any previous owners shed some light on the pro's and con's i.e. running costs? things to look out for when buying?

Noticed they've come down in price quite considerably, for example models with say 38,000 miles going for under £10k.

Always liked them, just wondered what they're like as a daily driver and to live with really. If, i'm thinking of buying, what should i look out for? I know this is a corsa forum but there's been the odd member who has or has had one, and just wanted some inpur really.

I like them and have also noticed the price drop. Tempting me too when its new car time but I dont know if I can live with the practicality of a 2 seater

BTW sorry this isnt helping

Nismo has one

I can't see why they'd be a problem as an every day car but the salesman at honda said to me they aren't the best every day car when i was taking an interest in them a month or two ago

Any car like that isn't an ideal every day car. It isn't hugely practical and I'm sure the fuel economy won't be great.

Depends how much money you're willing to tie up in running it I guess.

running costs aside why would it not be good to use everyday? i use my vx as daily driver, an S2000 is like a proper luxury car compared to that

I would have one, the only thing that could pose a problem is the lack of space,, work it out if you need more than 2 seats & a boot you'd struggle to get more than 1/2 a suitcase in then maybe its the wrong car.

Nice car if you can live with the lack of space and torque

Boot isn't TOO bad once you've taken the rear wheel out.

Very practical though - full leather interiors and very comfy. Softtops are prone to leaking on the earlier models (due to age now really) and the rear plastic screens sometimes go in the winter.

MPG wise, about 20 seems to be common - only a 50 litre tank so you'll only get about 225 miles before you need to fill up again. Biggest problem is insurance - group 20 even though its only a 2 litre.

Space isnt a problem as my missus has a car for the shopping For what i use my car for i never really use the boot so it's surplus (wonder how much i'd miss it though) Might visit a few garages today

In that case, it would be practical.

Cars like these are only practical or impractical depending on each individuals circumstances.

Had mine for 2 years, used a daily drive.

They are very very nice cars, i chose it over a boxster, vx220, TT, Insurance is steep, group 20 as mentioned but apart from that can fault it.

Fuel is about 20mpg depending how you drive, heavy foot, heavy fuel bill!

Common faults, earlly models have a plastic rear windown and in the cooler months are prone to cracking (happened to me) its eitehr £400 fopr replacement plastic or £800 - 1K for a brand new roof with a heated glass rear window (which i went for)

early models also suffer from th brak calipers seizing on the front, a new one is about £380 each from honda or a recon with less than 25K miles and warranty is £130 + 38 cash back on sending your old one back.

Other than the lack of space then there gereat, i can do all my shopping and get it in all ok.
