We had an oxy-acetylene bottle almost set alight, along with 5 or 6 others if the fire broke out. Then if the fire got huge it would have exploded all of the bottles of LPG we have outside.
Basically, I was welding but my flame was fucking up, so I gave the nozel to my mate to light for me while I spoke to a few others, looked around and next thing I know theres a huge flame on my mates hand where he was holding the nozel..First thoughts? Run. Second thoughts..There wasn't any, majority of our college got out and luckily enough tutors fixed the situation, if they didn't then I really wouldn't be posting now, i'd be in bits (literally).

Can't take it in at all..it was mad. It's under investigation, I had to give in a written statement along with 4 other lads.

happened to me at work only i was 40 feet under the water in a tank laying cement. the valve thats supposed to stop the flame going into the bottle didnt work and the bottle exploded 
i honestly thought we were being bombed.

His hand wasnt on fire, but it looked like it, he legged it too and tutors fixed it.
I didn't know what to do as myself and many others haven't been trained in health and safety on those, so I didn't have a clue.
He swiftly followed me

Yeah me and the rest of the college are pussies for getting out of a building that was on the verge of blowing up.
Ofcourse, you would have stayed there, not knowing what to do, and saved every person in that building whilst you had a blind fold on. Good one.

Tbh mate, you wouldnt be calling us drama queens if you knew how dangerous oxy-acetlyene was. It can explode in a 300m radius, so basically our college and surrounding buildings would have been blown to shreds. Also, we never ran away just because there was a fire caught onto the tubing and nozzle rising onto our mates hand.. we ran because if you get a flashback, then the bottle is going to explode, and as I stated, it'll blow everything in its way for a 300m radius. Would you fancy standing close by watching that happen ?

If i saw my mate on fire first thing going through my mind would be to put it out, i can imagine it almost like a reaction.If something sets on fire infront of you, you try to put it out, in my experience anyway.
